The Reaper's Wish

REAPER'S WISH

Many times my mind has wondered,
To far away roads and towns.
Many I've traveled to, on man made thunder,
Some to go through not slowing down.

Man and machine many times are one,
Roaring down paved roads to hell.
Some say straight roads are curved undone,
But those who know cannot tell.

Speed blurs my eyes with salty water,
Nothing can stop the undying tears.
The sun has gone but the night grows hotter,
As it has in the past thousand years.

Memories of souls lost in the lasting dark,
Flash across my soulless mind.
None were friends, none left their mark,
To show they were of freedom kind.

NowI ride on the darkest side,
To find one more sould to take.
Mine was lost at death's evening tide,
When I made that fatal mistake.

Then I rode a charger of powerful might,
And fought at a kings side.
Awarrior of old, some called me a knight,
Others said devil or iron hide.

But that too passed into other times,
Now on dark nights my soul returns,
To find a body to go inside,
For friesh blood my soul does yearn.

Again and again souls I did take,
To give to master to use and play.
Someday I'll find another who'll make,
The same fatal error, my fatal mistake.

Only freedome my soul does crave and desire,
Is to lie at peace in the cold, cold ground,
To escape from my master's hellish fires,
To lie where there are no screaming sounds.

So now my hunt has begun again,
Ahead I send the rageing storms,
With blind light and relentless rain,
To take a sould into my boney arms.

Only one soul can ease my pain,
To take away my duties to him.
To release me and let me rest once again,
Oh how I want the fires to go dim.

You may know now who am I,
The soul who hunts and to find,
Another soul to ride the empty skies,
I am the Reaper, wishing for your soul to find.
